Ihor Ivanovych Makohon is a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, sculptor. Born on July 16, 1936 in Kyiv, he graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute (1960), where his teachers were I. Makohon, V. Kostetskyi, and H. Melikhov. He worked in the field of sculpture and easel and monumental painting. In his work, he adheres to a realistic figurative direction, creating multi-figure paintings, landscapes, portraits, mosaic panels, decorative reliefs, and medals. Makohon's creative manner is characterized by a solid expressive drawing and harmony of content and form. He was a participant of city, all-Ukrainian, all-Union, and international art exhibitions starting in 1962. His personal exhibitions were held in in Florence (Italy, 1994, 1996) and Kyiv (1997). Makohon's main works include "Embroiderers" (1960), the relief "Kyiv - Hero City" (1970), and the mosaic panels "Art and Sport" (1972), "Sport" (1976). Some of his works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and the National Museum of History of Ukraine.
