Архип Іванович Куїнджі годує голубів

Hryhorii Odyseiovych Kalmykov was a landscape painter and graduate of the Imperial Academy of Arts and studied in the landscape studio of A.I. Kuindzhi. Born in Kerch on November 21, 1873. In 1889, he was a student of I.K. Aivazovsky in Feodosia, while in 1893 he graduated from the Odesa School of Drawing, where he was a student of K. Kostandi. From 1893 to 1895, he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts and was one of the most talented students of A.I. Kuindzhi. In 1895, Kalmykov received the title of class artist of the III degree, and in 1897 he received the title of artist. In 1900, his personal exhibition was held in St. Petersburg, and in 1901, he exhibited his paintings in Munich. From 1910, he was a member of the A.I. Kuindzhi Society of Artists. Kalmykov painted mainly landscapes. His works include "Moonlit Night in Kikeneyizi", "Foggy Morning", "Surf at the Iron Cliffs", "Twilight", and others. He lived in St. Petersburg (Leningrad). He died in 1942 during the siege of Leningrad.
