Oleksandr Illich Mikora was a Ukrainian artist. Born on December 22, 1925 in the hamlet of Zharkevych of the North Caucasus Territory of the RSFSR, Mikora graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute, where he studied under V. Kasiian and I. Pleshchynskyi (1957). After receiving his art education, he worked in Kyiv: from 1957 to 1961 as an art editor of the magazine "Barvinok", then from 1963 to 1974 as an art editor of the magazine "Malyatko". He was a member of the Union of Soviet Artists of Ukraine since 1970. Mikora participated in all-Ukrainian art exhibitions starting in 1968, foreign exhibitions starting in 1982, and all-Union exhibitions starting in 1985. The artist's works are kept in museums in Ukraine and abroad. Mikora lived and worked in Kyiv and died on May 5, 2014.
