Yurii Pavlovych Lutskevych was a Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. He was born on November 9, 1934 in the city of Zinovievsk (now Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine) and graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (1959) and the creative workshop of the Academy of Arts in Kyiv (1962-1965). His teachers by profession were H. Melikhov, V. Puzyrkov, S. Hryhoriev, and M. Derehus. Lutskevych worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. Since 1966, he was a member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He created genre compositions, portraits, and urban landscapes, including a series of paintings dedicated to Kyiv and the cities of Western Europe. Lutskevych was the first master who witnessed the emergence of a new wave of neo-baroque attempts in modern Ukrainian art of the 20th century. He participated in republic (since 1959), all-Union, and foreign (since 1965) exhibitions. His main works include "Azov Summer" (1964), "In the Days of War" (1965), "Puppet Master" (1966), "Military Music" (1968), and others. He lived and worked in Kyiv and died on July 22, 2001.
