Hryhorii Saveliiovych Moskovchenko was a Soviet painter and teacher. He was born on February 25, 1916 in the village of Karatysh, Mariupol district, Ekaterinoslav region (now the village of Starodubivka, Mangush district, Donetsk region). In 1951, he graduated from the Surikov Moscow Art Institute. He was an Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1982) and a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Moskovchenko participated in exhibitions starting in 1951. He lived and worked in Moscow and died on April 5, 1995.

In dark colors - the ruins of the city. On the left the remains of a destroyed house stand out; nearby there is a bright spot of the river. On the right there is the wing of an airplane with a fascist swastika. Below, on the left - the author's signature and date of creation.
